A little dissapointed, but it is for a good cause October 4, 2008 I was hoping for more descriptive pictures...something to "bring to life" (or match) what I'd come to see in my mind, while reading the books.
I am not dissatisfied though, especially since the proceeds are helping a good cause.
Overall, the calandar is certainly adequate and the pictures are definitely well done.
Great Calendar September 29, 2008 This calendar is great for any Robert Jordan fan. Some of the digital art prints could have been done better but many of the pictures are top notch.
Great new calendar September 16, 2008 For any fan of the series, this is a must. By the fans, for the fans and supporting research of the disease that took the author (as stated on the inside of the calendar). Also, the artwork is beautiful and of various media.
I bought it to contribute September 16, 2008 I puchased this calendar to contribute in a small way to the memorial fund but was pleasantly surprised. In every other Calendar I've purchased over the DECADES [i'm old folks] one artist has painted or [in some non SF/FTSY cases]photographed the images. This was a variety and the artists chose some scenes that sent me rummaging through the books. Which meant I wound up re reading them. If RJ were still... well, alive, I would buy him a bheer and tell him how sneaky this was and is. Zeke Zukowski Atlanta.
Good Original Fan Art September 16, 2008 Thankfully, it's not a reproduction of the cover art from the books! It is a collection of fan art that Robert Jordan picked before his untimely death. Part of the proceeds go to research on the disease that killed him (I'd have to look on the inside cover of the calendar to spell it correctly and I don't have it with me as I write this.). That is reason enough for fans to buy this calendar. The artwork is generally very good. I liked some more than others, as would be the case for anyone. Each person has their own tastes. Overall, I would rate it as very good.
