Product Description
Well, apparently I live here now—my mom just bought the place. And named it after me, Ashleigh, which was nice. But did she know how cold it is here?? Um, it's a tiny island with not much to do, unless you really like sleigh rides. But I gotta say there are quite a few hot guys on this cold island . . .

Great Book!! October 2, 2008 Haley Pearson Mrs. Rowe's 4th block 10-1-08 This is a great book and I am so glad that I read it. The book is about a girl named Ashleigh. She is about seventeen years old. She has just moved to an island off the coast of Maine. It is freezing all the time and there is always a bunch of snow. Which is totally different then what she is used to because she is from north Texas. Where there is very little snow and you wear shorts almost all year- round. The island is very quaint. It is a very romantic island. With horse drawn carriages, and the white blanket of snow that cover the ground every morning. The plot left me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole book . When she starts falling for this guy named Josh. Some of the stuff that she says just makes you picture you knight in shining armor. A huge conflict in the story is when she finds out that the guy that she likes actually has a girlfriend. This turns out being one of her new best friends. It does end up getting better but it takes some time. I believe that the theme I that you should always follow your heart.
One of my favorite books. June 25, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful

"Snowed In" by Rachel Hawthorne. Number 1) If you have not read any other books by this author and your a girl in middle school. Your going to get hooked. (other books include: CARRIBEAN CRUISING, THE BOYFRIEND LEAGUE, ISLAND GIRLS(AND BOYS), A YEAR IN EUROPE: THREE NOVELS, THRILL RIDE, FIRST KISSES, and LOVE ON THE LIFTS just to name a few.)
Number 2) Ashleigh (pernounced Ashley) and her mom move to a small island off of the Great Lakes, bacause her mom and dad divorce. The first day Ashleigh is there she defenitly notices that it is always FREEZING in the winter. Good thing happen when you have someone to snuggle up against.
Number 3) Josh. Most cute, adorable boy that of course you can guess what happens when Ashleigh sees him.
Number 4) Nathalie (not natalie). Though i said natalie through the whole entire book. o well!
The thing is i've gave away alot. so have fun reading ALL of Rachel Hawthorne's series. Trust me my friends spend 6 hours at Border reading!!!!

"Snowed In," by Rachel Hawthorne, is a cute story about Ashleigh and her mom. They just moved to a very tiny island in the Great Lakes, thinking it would get them away from all the exhausting drama. They expected it to be fun, but did they really know just how cold this little island could get? Ashleigh has to adjust to this extraordinarily different new life, battle out the freezing weather, make some new friends, and possibly a new boyfriend, in this funny modern romance.
Ashleigh is my favorite character in "Snowed In." She was unpredictable, and always made me laugh. Ashleigh was always doing something funny, and I could never figure her out! She was by far my favorite character.
Nathalie, Ashleigh's new best friend on the chilly island, came off as rude and very pushy to me. She was a great character for this book, and she made the story more interesting, but I didn't like her in the least bit. Nathalie was absolutely, no question, my very least favorite character in the whole entire book.
My favorite part in this book would have to be in very beginning, when she Ashleigh has just woken up, still half asleep, and she stumbles across `the lumberjack,' Jake. She was so not a morning person, so she was a little grumpy, and she just starts chewing out Jake. I was laughing for the rest of the chapter.
"Snowed In" by Rachel Hawthorne, though a little predictable in some parts, was an all-around incredible book. I just could not put it down! There was never once a boring moment in it, and I loved every little inch. The author did a fantastic job, and I thought the she wrote the book very well. I would absolutely, without hesitation, recommend "Snowed In," by Rachel Hawthorne, to everyone.
