Great for the office April 16, 2008 This is a good product if you need help finding the correct spellings of words especially in an office environment.

I sppreciated the edition of Merriam's I had in high school, which was worn with use, but as a 28 year-old law student I find the selection of words narrow and depressing. There's what I consider to be an irritating amount of slang in the volume and the defintions are alternately too brief or vague to suit my tastes. I think it's probably more suitable for teens, or undergrads (?). For older adults I'd suggest it as a secondary reference - for those who write on a regular basis Oxford's is still the best.
Good enough March 27, 2008 I bought this for a Mexican friend learning English and she says she likes it.
