Amazon.com Review You've heard that performing well on your ACT can make up for mediocre performance in high school. But how can you ace it? Suzee Vlk, author of The SAT I for Dummies, can help. The ACT for Dummies is packed with useful information and strategies to help you prepare for the test. The book includes advice on how to use the book efficiently (Vlk estimates you'll need 19 hours to work through it), review chapters for all four sections of the exam, and two complete practice exams. In familiar Dummies style, Vlk includes a handy tear-out "Cheat Sheet" with a summary of the most important information and a "Part of Tens" section with 10 things colleges are looking for in their applicants and "Ten Dumb Things You Can Do to Mess Up Your ACT." With its witty writing, clear layout, and helpful icons in the margins to point out tips, tricks, and traps in the exam, and sample questions, The ACT for Dummies makes test preparation easy and relatively painless. --C.B. Delaney

What you see is what you get August 29, 2008 Great book for people who don't speak "intelligent" 24/7! I feel it is comprehensive and helps you study. There is light humor to keep you awake and take interest in studying for a big test. I will take the test Sept. 14th, so hopefully all goes well!
A spoonful of humor helps the material go down March 22, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We love the "Dummies" series for their humor and easy-to-understand qualities. What good is a prep book if your mind wanders due to boredom? My son felt this book helped him understand the subjects better than his high school classes did. After thoroughly reviewing each subject, the book had two practice tests with complete explanations in the next chapter. This really helped my son prepare for and do well on the ACT. We highly recommend it.
really good. March 12, 2008 I am currently reading this book, im almost done with it and I only bought it 2 days ago, the way the author writes makes you laugh and hooked to the next chapter. You can read it twice and not get bored, What I especially liked is that there is 2, 2 practice ACT tests that give you what your score would be if it was the real deal. pretty cool, so I hope I do good on the ACT, and if I do it is entireley because of this book. :)!
Great book!!! December 27, 2007 You have to have this book. I would give this book a 10 out of 10.
My BEST Books for College Students... November 4, 2007 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
This certainly ranks up there. My other choices for 2007, hands down: 1) How To Ace Your Way Through College & Still Have a Life 2) The MLA Handbook 3) Fiske Guide to Colleges Dr. Vernon M Cambridge, MA
