good entertainment August 5, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Just finished it last night. Fun read. Pretty good entertainment value. It does not have the scope but does not hurt the fun.
As an avid Zombie fan... August 4, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I think what I really like about zombie stories is how civilization just breaks down so quickly in the aftermath of such an epidemic. How no one is prepared and how things go from normal to catastrophe in a few days. This book had that, but I didnt FEEL it the same way as say, world war z or the Walking Dead. Overall it was almost too calm and the "daily journal entry" sort of took the suspense and terror out of the writing. Overall it was a pretty boring zombie read.
A Truly Excellent Zombie Novel July 28, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
It took me a while to pick this book up on Amazon for a couple of concerns. Firstly its cover looks like a piece of crap, I'm sorry but it does, and although I know the old adage 'Don't judge a book by its cover' that one doesn't always ring true, check out you local store's bargin bin. Books that the publisher have no faith in usually get stuck with lousy covers.
The second worry was that the book being in a diary format would end up being a little dry. Social commentary's great and all but what about the need for ghouls being shot in the face? In any case neither of those concerns came true. Day By Day Armageddon is a highly enjoyable read, the story is a little soft in places but its style is fantastic, you really get inside the narrator's head and are placed in his shoes. The survival techniques are brilliantly demonstrated (Making it a must-read for anyone crazy enough to believe the zombie apocalypse is actually coming, like, y'know, me.) And it certainly isn't short on the action side of things either.
fan to fan July 17, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a well writen book that is done in a diary set up which was enteresting. The book does a good job of staying with the old rules of the zombie which is what i liked about it, but he also puts a few minor but very good twist of his own when it comes to the undead. I am a huge fan that the charicter is a servicemember which makes for good tactics and use of skill. Also the fact that the author is as well shows in this book i realy respct that. I would tell anyone who is a fan of zombie's to pick this up and i am realy looking for the sequal.

First of all, English is not my mother tongue, even so, this what i think. Facinating book, great read, at the end I feel so scare... I was not trilled at the book cover, but just reading the introduction, it hook me in, the characters are well develop, and the history is fluid and credible.
