Product Description What do Bobby Knight, Benjamin Franklin, Martin Luther King, Joe Paterno, Albert Einstein, Billie Jean King, and George Bernard Shaw have in common? They are all quoted in Coach: A Treasury of Inspiration and Laughter. Hundreds of witty and moving observations on sports and life make this book a valuable resource for anyone involved in guiding young athletes. Jess Brallier and Sally Chabert have teamed up to present a book that coaches can turn to again and again for just the right words to inspire their players.

We can never have too much inspiration... June 15, 2000 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It's a thoughtful collection that goes from Socrates to Vince Lombardi to Charles Barkley. My first copy was gift and I went out and bought two more. One for a friend who coaches JV football and one for my son's x-country coach. Who said this? "Children today are tyrants. They contradict their parent, gobble their food..." Surprise! Socrates 400B.C. Need a quick quote for a dinner... you are sure to find one. My high rating is because I wouldn't loan this book for fear of not getting it back and I want it around for my grandchildren.
