GET THIS BOOK! January 27, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I just took the SAT Math 1 on Saturday and this book helped me so much! I had about 3 other review book and this one was by far the best. If your taking a subject test I recommend to get two different reviews because some have info that others lack.
Handy preparation December 11, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Pretty good and straightforward review to prepare you for the SAT II Math. I started using this as a study guide a week before the test, and it helped very much. I'm currently taking Calculus, so Precal (most of Level 2 Math) and other subjects were forgotten. This book helped me remember and review many mathematical concepts, such as the arithmetic/geometric sequences, sum of sequences, and some handy equations.
If you're taking the Math SAT, it's assumed that you're almost or already done with precalculus classes. This book is meant as a REVIEW, to refresh your memories on concepts you have already learned.
There are some mistakes in the book, but overall, they're negligible.
I took Math Level 2 and the practice test questions in this book are very similar to the actual SAT test questions. The Math Level 1 practice tests problems are good for practice.
I definitely recommend this book. If you aren't a procrastinator like me (who started studying 1 week before), I also recommend the Baron's review too. That review book is a lot harder and detailed, but if you start studying a month before the actual test, Baron's the way to go.
Too many errors for a 20 dollar book. November 2, 2007 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
I'm giving this book two stars because the actual review material was amazing, and really helped me understand math.
However, this book has many errors. Most of the errors I remember were in the chapter with the answers to the drills and practice questions in tables. For example, for a couple of tables the page numbers the tables say they refer to are off. Another example, theres one spot where the answer in the answer column contradicts the answer the explanation says is correct. These kind of things drive me insane, and simply should not be in a book that costs twenty dollars. These errors are fixed by simple, simple proofreading.
I also bought Princeton Review's Chemistry subject test guide, and because of that other book I will never buy anything from this company again.
How did they make math fun??? October 23, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This prep book is amazing. I've tried all the other companies and Princeton Review writes as though the people who are purchasing the book do in fact need help in math. I'm taking several subject tests and by far studying for math is more fun than for other subjects because of the ease of reading this book.
Accurate review book June 4, 2007 28 out of 28 found this review helpful
I took the math IIC test earlier today and the Princeton Review book was on target. The practice tests were very similar in difficulty level to the actual test itself, and the book's lessons and suggestions were very helpful as well as readable. I also own the Barrons review book, and while that was good to practice the toughest questions, it is really nothing like the test itself. So I recommend the Princeton Review over the Barrons to anyone looking for a sufficient review of the material and accurate practice for the exam.
