Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars The mel cebulash Kid with the left hook review   September 27, 2004
I think this book is a for sure knock out. It's about a kid named Julio Garcia who is right out of high school and wants to be a fighter. So he meets Charley Monroe at the gym. Charley hooks Julio up with an appartment to live in until he makes enough money to get his own. So he starts boxing for money and is using his pattent left hook to STUN his opponents. He is a for sure natural. But then his manager, Charley meets a very controlling lady by the name of Chris. Chris eventually met Julio and suggested that he goes to college. And Charley gets MAD! He knows Julio can be the best fighter in the world and the talent is just going down the drain. But its Julio's decision to go to college and he does. He quit boxing before he ever really could have been famous.
I think it's a great book and it makes me think about making choices in the world and most importantely, don't ever let a girl take you out of your game. Make sure you know what's right for you and stay focused on what you love.

THanks a lot yall...

Wayne
