Robert Stanek is one of those rare authors who can write successfully across genres and age groups. His Bugville Criters stories are utterly delightful and I love the format the publisher chose with its full-size and brilliant colors.
Robert Stanek has written a number of stand-alone Bugville Critters books. My family has read all of the ones currently available from The Bugville Critters Visit Dad and Mom at Work (Buster Bee's Adventures Series #1, The Bugville Critters) to The Bugville Critters Go to School (Buster Bee's Adventures Series #2, The Bugville Critters) to The Bugville Critters Have a Sleepover (Buster Bee's Adventures Series #3, The Bugville Critters) and The Bugville Critters Visit Garden Box Farms (Buster Bee's Adventures Series #4, The Bugville Critters).
We are looking forward the upcoming releases of The Bugville Critters Go on Vacation (Buster Bee's Adventures Series #5, The Bugville Critters) (Buster Bee's Adventures Series: the Bugville Critters) and The Bugville Critters Rush to the Hospital (Buster Bee's Adventures Series #6, The Bugville Critters) (Buster Bee's Adventures Series: the Bugville Critters) and The Bugville Critters Play Their First Big Game (Buster Bee's Adventures Series #7, The Bugville Critters) (Buster Bee's Adventures Series: the Bugville Critters).
The Buster Bee School Days books collect the Buster stories in sets of two. I found three so far Too Much Sweets (Buster Bee's School Days #1) (Buster Bee's School Days), Make New Friends (Buster Bee's School Days #2) (Buster Bee's School Days), and Vacation Surprise (Buster Bee's School Days #3) (Buster Bee's School Days).
This book, Make New Friends, starts with Buster's sleepover with his friend Sarah and continues to their visit to Garden Box Farms. This is a delightful, heart-warming story and a perfect addition to any young reader's library. I enjoy it as much as the kids for its gentle humor, wonderful illustrations, and pleasant reading. It's hard to go wrong with those qualities and you would go wrong if you passed up this delightful children's book. I know my kids ate up every word and drawing in it.
