Book Description What does the world look like through the eyes of a shaman? To help answer this question, Dr. Bradford Keeney and Nancy Connor present Shamans of the World, an intimate encounter with traditional healers from ten unique indigenous cultures. Through mesmerizing first-hand accounts of miraculous transformation and healing, Shamans of the World transports readers to the otherworldly reality of visionary figures including: * Walking Thunder, the Dine Medicine Woman who reveals the importance of a life fully appreciated * Ava Tape Miri, the Guarani Forest Shaman who makes immediate the unity of all creation through his insights * Mabolelo Shikwe, the Kalahari Bushman and lineage holder in the world's oldest healing tradition. With authentic "first wisdom" from its source, here is an unprecedented collection of our spiritual roots that offers a radical new understanding of the planet we share. Shaman's of the World July 17, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
A wonderful opportunity to learn from some of the most gifted healers of the world without having to travel to Africa, Bali, etc. I loved how open they were to sharing their wisdom. The authors did a beautiful job of "stepping out of the way" and letting the shaman's and their ancestor's speak for themselves. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for an introduction into another way of seeing the world, healing, and the Divine.
