fun little book... September 22, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
i bought this book on a whim and i'm glad i did. as others have said if you like the magic 8 ball you'll really like this book. the answers are not as straight forward but that's okay with me. i use my intuition to figure out how the "answer" applies to the question i asked or if i feel really inclined to i ask again. i did that once and actually got the same "answer" after much flipping so i took that to mean that i needed to explore and acknowledge that particular answer to my question. the book is really thick and there are a lot of answers...from mildly ambiguous ones to straightforward "yes" or "no" responses. would make a nice gift.

I love this book and gave it to moms on Mother's Day and adult graduates! What a hit! Since I seem to have a lot of unanswered questions these days and not all the answers this was perfect to share with family and friends! The adult 'Magic 8' ball if you will! I am going to order more to have when I need a gift that is different and fun.
I love this book!!! March 17, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I love this book. In fact, after the first copy, I purchased 3 more and gave them to my friends for Christmas. It is great if you are wavering on a decision and you want a little fun!
Mildly cool pop culture trinket January 17, 2007 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Bolt's "Book of Answers" functions like a cross between a magic eight-ball and the Chinese I-Ching. It's not as complex as the I-Ching's 64 hexagram setup, nor as aqueous a solution as the eight-ball: ask a question, then open the book to any page for a guilt-free resolution to your current Boolean-value dilemma. Simple! Except that sometimes the "Yes/No" answer is even murkier than whatever problem you're resorting to magic to fix.
For best results, bake some "brownies" and bookend it with your pet rock on the same shelf as your copy of "Reefer Madness," lava lamp, birth charts, cosmology texts, the Bible, and the Anarchist Cookbook.
