| Editorial Reviews:
Book Description Dr. John Dee (1527-1608) was one of the greatest minds of the Elizabethan Age, and his system of angelic communication was the result of the most dramatic magical operation ever recorded. It has survived to become the cornerstone of the modern ceremonial magician's practice. In 1582 Dee and his clairvoyant partner Edward Kelley made magical contact with a number of spiritual entities who identified themselves as angels the same that communicated with Adam, Enoch, and the patriarchs of the Old Testament. Over the next three years they revealed to Dee and Kelley three distinct magical systems of vision magick. The third and last of these incorporated a series of "calls" to be recited in an angelic language in order to raise the consciousness of the magician to a level where angelic contact is possible. Best-selling author and magician, Lon Milo DuQuette, who has practiced Dee's system for over twenty-five years, has seized upon elements of the original Dee material overlooked by adepts of the Golden Dawn, Aleister Crowley, and other modern magicians, and brought them to light in Enochian Vision Magick. DuQuette offers the expert and novice alike the practical means by which they can become attuned in the same simple step-by-step manner that first prepared Dee and Kelley. There has never been a book on Enochian magick like this one.

Necessary Bridge between Dee and the "Gee Dee" August 2, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Okay, I admit it: I'm a friend of Lon's (something to be proud of actually) and I'm apologizing for getting this review in late---and yet that's a good thing because I can shoot the two nasty reviews out of the water---but first, what's good and unique about this leventy-leventh book on 'How to Do Enochian'? Lon's book creates a bridge between, and a synthesis of, the divergent "Dee Purist" and "G.D./Crowley" schools of Enochian magick. These two different approaches to the same material have been steadily drifting apart since the 1970's magical revival. Actually there was no reason for this. The Golden Dawn's contribution was mainly in working out the complex inner correspondences of the watchtower tablets, a legacy that can be integrated into the earlier system or vise versa. Some Deeish Enochian nit-pickers will disagree but in the complex Enochian universe we can't please everybody--and yet most practical Enochian magicians will benefit by the fusion of the two systems. In line with that, Lon's clear, cogent and friendly writing style makes this brain-buster of a subject actually come alive and make you want to head for the workshop to start building traditional equipment. Is the book a "Must Have" for all working and aspiring Enochian magicians? Yes, I believe it is. Now what about those two negative customer reviews? The guy who wants to bundle his video with a book he gives a one-star rating must have a one-star video to bundle the book with! That in itself should be sufficient to dispose of that one. The other fellow is not only wrong about these being "advance" reviews, he doesn't understand that books are always circulated in advance for review to other writers in the field. Their reviews are often favorable out of professional courtesy. If they don't like the book they simply won't review it. Frankly, such reviews are more valuable on a complex technical subject than those of "Mr.Average" who wouldn't know an Enochian from a Mohican. So lets give Lon a big round of applause for his contribution to modern Enochian study and practice--especially practice. And you can see Maestro DuQuette himself, appearing as the sage Hermes Trismegistus on top of mystical Mt. Shasta in our new DVD Beyond Lemuria --also from Amazon.

When the Student is Ready... July 14, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
When I first began studying Enochian Magick 8 years ago, I bought every book I could find, and there were few, and still had a hard time making sense of it all. I finally put those studies on the backburner and have, in the ensuing years studied many other esoteric subjects. When I recently felt the urge to renew my studies of Enochia, I was blessed to come across this book and am absolutely thrilled with it. It seems to prove the saying, "When the student is ready, the teacher appears."
Everything you need July 7, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was always intimidated by the enochian system and so I was thrilled to see Duquette had written a book on it. He does a great job explaining the history and variations of the systems before getting to how he works. Included is everything you need to construct your own items and begin working. My favorite part about Duquette's books his enthusiasm and encouragement. Get in the work and begin doing the work. You'll never see results if you never try.
A Definitive Book on the Subject July 2, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Lon DuQuette has written the best book I've ever encountered with regard to the Enochian system - it is a complete guide to the Angelic operations of Dr. John Dee and Edward Kelley. "Enochian Vision Magick" is both well-written and easily accessible, even for beginners in the art. The historical context is invaluable in aiding the reader to fully grasp the complexity and intricacy of the operations. By including all the received material prior to the Enochian phase (especially the Heptarchia), DuQuette successfully endeavors to attune the reader in a similar manner to Dee and Kelly, thereby increasing the overall understanding and effectiveness of the workings. This book is simply superb and would be a great benefit to any esoteric library! This may be DuQuette's best book thus far...
DVD on Enochian Magick by Lon Milo DuQuette is available! June 28, 2008 3 out of 12 found this review helpful
I wonder why Lon Milo Duquette's Enochian Magick - A Treatise on Angelic Evocation, in which Lon Milo DuQuette narrates this subject in step by step fashion is not bundled with this work? I find this video to be the best possible source for anyone from beginner to advanced in this area. I originally purchased the video originally on VHS some years ago and next bought the expanded version when it was recently released on DVD. I looked for it on Amazon and then finally found it while searching the Internet. I have read many of the author's other books and found them humorous in parts, and in some instances informative, albeit a bit lacking in real depth when it comes to serious investigative explanations. Perhaps he should revisit his earlier efforts and return to the quality and quantity of what is contained in that particular DVD.
