Editorial Reviews:

Book Description
"The Darrell Survey Golf Equipment Almanac 2004" is the all-new, completely revised fifth annual edition of the world's leading golf-equipment reference book.

The Almanac analyzes consumer golf-equipment trends by age and handicap level, with exclusive Darrell Satisfaction Ratings calculated from the opinions of golfers actually using the equipment in question. Regarding professional usage, the Almanac contains complete results for the PGA, Champions, Nationwide, LPGA and Japan Golf Tours, including the brands and models used by the winning players.

Exclusive to the Almanac are PGA Performance Statistics, providing actual PGA driving distance, driving accuracy and putts-per-hole statistics for specific ball, driver and putter models.

The product of tens of thousands of on-site equipment inspections conducted by the Darrell Survey each year, the Almanac covers the full range of golf equipment, including balls, irons, wedges, drivers, fairway woods, putters, shafts, grips, bags, gloves, shoes and shirts.

The Almanac charts the rapidly changing world of golf equipment with a vast array of easy-to-use statistics. The Titleist Pro V1 ball, for example, has a PGA Tour driving-distance average of 281.6 yards and driving-accuracy average of 62.1%. In consumer usage, the Pro V1 is the most-used ball model among all handicap levels, and garners an overall Golfer Satisfaction Rating of 444 (out of a perfect 500).

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars An impressive amount of information   June 15, 2004
Thank God someone compiled this info -- really good stuff. The most interesting part is the vast amount of Tour information re: specific models. I also like the fact that the Consumer stats are broken down so many different ways (by age, handicap, etc.)
