Product Description Designed for the two-year college or high-school tech prep student, this book offers a complete field-tested curriculum for the first semester of technical drawing. Its unique approach blends technical drawing and intro to AutoCAD, resulting in a book that emphasizes the fundamental concepts, knowledge and skill needed for the second level courses. | Customer Reviews:
Great way to get started... November 6, 2008 I've made it a point to keep track of CAD manuals out there. True that there are many larger, more robust publishers, but none break it down like Doug and Antonio here in this book. It is a beginning book for CAD users. You want to know how to get things started, well you can follow right along with the chapters and get from understanding the user interface and workspaces all the way through to your first Mechanical, Architectural, Electrical, and 3D drawings.
I really like how things have been organized in the book and tips and shortcuts are made apparent. I've had no problems working with my students who use this book and they've all really learned a lot.
Understand that this book is a guided explanation of tools and concepts using AutoCAD and not only offers how to use tools, but also the concepts behind different design disciplines. Perfect for someone wanting an introduction to drafting.
