Product Description The S.T.A.B.L.E. Program is a neonatal education program that focuses on the post-resuscitation/pre-transport stabilization care of sick newborns. S.T.A.B.L.E. stands for the 6 assessment parameters covered in the program: Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood pressure, Lab work, and Emotional support for the family. The S.T.A.B.L.E. Program is designed to provide important information about neonatal stabilization for maternal/infant healthcare providers in all settings - from community hospitals and birth centers, to emergency rooms and hospital environments. This new enhanced fifth edition "Learner Manual" serves as a student handbook for either self-study or instructor-led presentations. Fully reviewed by highly regarded neonatologists, nurses and respiratory therapists, this text includes more than 220 pages, heavily illustrated in full color. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) distributes these S.T.A.B.L.E. publications.

Excellent Resource March 21, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The S.T.A.B.L.E. Program provides an excellent overall view to not only stabilizing infants for transport, but caring for them on an everyday basis. STABLE works as an excellent adjuct to NRP, but is NOT a replacement for NRP. I highly recommend this book for anyone involved in the care of neonates - especially those in rural hospitals who rarely deal with ill neonates. As a nurse in a regional referral center NICU, I view this program as a valuable asset to my career.
