Product Description Farmlands, Forts, and Country Life is a colorful and fascinating history of Southwest Denver. It is a story of settlers and swing dancers, straight-razor shaves and Civil War forts. These compelling tales and photographs provide glimpses into this city's lively past. Farmlands, Forts, and Country Life is a story of the lives and monuments of Southwest Denver both celebrated and forgotten; it is a story worth preserving.

A wealth of information about people and circumstances in Denver October 31, 2008 This book contains the most comprehensive information I've ever seen on West Denver. I grew up in Westwood, went to Garden Home grade school and Westwood Junior High. Many of the names of people in the area mentioned by Ms. Catlett I know or remember from the 40s and early 50s. This book is a keepsake. Kudos to Sharon Catlett for all of the research work that went into completion of a fine, thoughtful, and valuable part of Denver history finally brought to print.
Fantastic trip down memory lane January 7, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I ordered this book because I grew up in this area, Westwood to be exact and I found it facinating the depth of the area that Sharon went to in her book. This is particularly interesting to anyone from Denver and especially from the West and Southwest areas. Thank you Sharon for writing such a detailed history from the beginning to the present of the area. Carol Sundine-Moreira
