2 out of 5 stars Too limited.   July 27, 2000

While many books are reviewed in capsule form the author limits himself to repetitive comments like "time waster" or "time passer." With A, B and C movies mixed together in what the author refers to a festivals, the book lacks a consistent critical focus. Limited to movies from 1980-1989 this series is not really that useful. For a better take on the genre check out Michael Weldon or Danny Peary.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent!!   March 16, 1998

L A Morse does a superb job in reviewing trashy movies and some hidden gems as well. The reviews are very witty and makes one LOL (laugh out loud)! The author does more than just review films, there is an analysis of the genre in which the films fall under. One of the best film review books written.
