Thorough and with a good lay out October 23, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Having just started a travel clinic, I was keen to have a read through this textbook. It is thoroughly written bij experts in the field. A very helpful chapter on how to start and market a travel clinic proved quite useful; it gives practical tips on how to do this. The layout is beautifully done with maps and tables, made with attention to detail. I liked the sections on "Aircraft cabin environment" (bits on air filtration, cosmic radiation and inflight medical emergencies) and the four chapters on travelers' diarrhea. What I missed was detailed information on how to manage vaccines and the cold chain.
All in all a very useful book. Since it is the first edition, hopefully the next edition will have some more information on the vaccines for future buyers.
