| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Diving and Subaquatic Medicine is a concise and clinically authoritative guide to all aspects of diving medicine. It encompasses the full range of diving disorders exhibited by both amateur and professional deep sea divers, presenting each medical disorder from an historical, etiological, clinical, pathological, preventative and therapeutic perspective. Explanations are interspersed with relevant case histories, illustrations, boxed summaries and highlighted key points for rapid reference, whilst introductory chapters on physics, physiology, and equipment make the book invaluable reading for those new to the field. The new edition has been completely revised throughout to include the latest research and diving data, as well as important coverage of newly described diseases of diving, modern types of diving and diving equipment, and free and indigenous diving. Comprehensive appendices contain vital diving data.

Best of type..... July 6, 2001 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This book appeals to me for a few reasons.....It is a concise no nonsense approach to diving medicine for everyone from diving novices to hyperbaric physicians (I have seen both groups use this book). I think it is a must for all doctors who treat or do medicals for divers. The main problem with this book is that it comes in paper back and my personal copy is now deteriorating from overuse. Its that kind of book that you just keep going back to. For the price and breadth of knowledge (including venomous fish/shark attacks the facts as well as decompression illness and medical conditions that preclude diving) there is no book than can come close.
Great starting point! October 19, 2000 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
This book offers a wealth of information on a whole range of diving related medical subjects and provided the information at a level that even non medically trained readers could follow clearly and concisely. This reference offered me a great starting point to begin to understand many of the medical considerations facing divers and their doctors.
