Customer Reviews:
Every baseball fan should own this book March 9, 2008 Have you ever been at a game where a pitcher made the merest twitch, and the whole crowd started screaming, "balk" but no signal came from the umpire? Have you ever had a strange, difficult argument with a friend about exactly what the heck the infield fly rule says, and when it applies? Have you ever listened to a couple of baseball announcers having a long tortured discussion about whether the ball was live when somebody was tagged, or what constitutes catcher's interference, or illegally blocking the plate?
If you follow baseball much, chances are that your answers to all of the above are "yes." You need this book. While the rules themselves are at times a tad legalistic and hard to follow, the answer to all of baseball's otherwise intractable rule-puzzles is here. On occasion, you may even notice one of the peculiar ambiguities which plague any effort to exhaustively codify a complex subject like baseball.
Keep this one next to the TV when your buddies are over; win those arguments!

I have found that this rule book is essential to have as a youth baseball coach. I buy one every year and I highly recommend it to all my fellow coaches.
Title not covering contents, March 20, 2007 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
The title of this book states that the rules in it are for the year 2007. However, when looking into the contents it turns out that the rules are those for the year 2006. Disappointment!
