Editorial Reviews:

Book Description
Boston is an adventure sports fanatic's heaven. With superb opportunities within the city limits—the Charles River and Boat Basin, the Bay and its islands, the "Emerald Necklace" of parks—Boston's suburbs and outlying attractions are even more impressive. The North Shore, the South Shore, the Cape, and the Islands offer world-class destinations. Weekending offers kayaking or biking the Maine Coast, climbing New Hampshire's White Mountains, bike- or ski-touring Vermont. Here, among the countless choices, are the best destinations for two dozen sports. 75 maps.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Great if you are new to Boston   January 16, 2008
This is a great book if you are new to Boston and looking for outdoor activities. It covers a number of activities including hiking, biking, kayaking, and horseback riding. It also divides things nicely by their distance from Boston. After a couple years it still helps me find new hikes in the area.
