5 out of 5 stars Fast and effective fly fishing immersion   March 28, 2008

An excellent book that does exactly what it says, and more. It got me up to speed quickly and then built skills effectively, after the foundation is laid. The fly tying instructions at the end of the book was an added bonus. If you are going to only buy one book on this subject, I highly recommend "Fly Fishing in 24 Hours"!

Mr. Sousa guides you through the basics of fly casting and presenting the fly to fish and where to locate fish in ponds and streams.Fundamentals of fly tying is covered for wet and dry flies. The details on rigging the fly rod and reel and various types of fly lines are covered well. There is,also, an excellent glossary and fly fishing equipment list of resources included in this book.
