Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Covering all aspects of the art of Ninjutsu, this book reveals the secrets of how to develop power through body movement and how to effectively remove an opponent's balance. A wide-ranging introduction looks at the history of Ninjutsu, as well as mental and physical attitude. Featuring additional subjects such as training advice and pressure points, this essential guidebook will promote harmony between the reader's mind and body, a balance rarely examined from a 1,000-year-old martial arts perspective.

5 out of 5 stars Highly recommended   June 24, 2008

I recently received my copy from Amazon and I was very impressed. The book is excellent for beginners and I am now recommending it to all my students shodan and below. The descriptions and photos are clear and concise examples of the basics of Bujinkan Taijutsu.
If you are looking for the history and weapons of the Ninja, this book is not for you. Just as Yeo Shihan explains, "I don't want to spend too much time on the history of Ninjutsu, as it is well documented in other books." On the other hand, he does provide a great foundation in the physical aspects and movements of the art. Charles Daniels' "Taijutsu" book is similarly beneficial (and I have always recommended it to beginners as well), but Yeo Shihan provides a greater range of techniques/movements and the photos are in color (rather than the black-&-white photos from Daniels' book).

5 out of 5 stars This is a very good book ! Recommended!   May 22, 2008

This is one of the many good books on the subject of Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu (Ninjutsu etc.). I recommend this book for beginner and advanced in this versatile art. Hatsumi Sensei's teachings have varied (nature of the art) and he has teached to many Shihan the art individually. It is wise to learn from as many teacher as you can so you can receive all those parts of the bigger picture (puzzle). This book is surely a very important piece to gather as information so crucial for any martial artist. The basics are pretty well explained. The picture series are a bit out of line with text sometimes but that is not a problem if you follow the text. I warmly recommend this book and wish the author lots of Gambatte ;D. I wish the author to write more books!

I have written this book to give readers an insight into Ninjutsu. The first half of the book concentrates on the mind body and spirit and the philosophy of the Ninja. It also details how to bring a balance to your mind and enable you to see the truth in various situations. The second half of the book covers the basic techniques of Takamatsu based Ninjutsu and is invaluable to anyone learning Ninjutsu. The last part of the book deals with pressure points and training tips and advice to those studying Ninjutsu.
