Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Very helpful   April 15, 2003
I highly recommend this book. Being new to possibly the roughest and most demanding sport out there, I was lost in terms of trianing. This book presented the information clearly and was educatiional on many levels. The methods explained are proven on the pitch. After reading it, I'm sure my off season will be very busy.

4 out of 5 stars Full of information to help the more competitive player   June 30, 2001

This book is full of valued information. It covers many areas of an athlete's training. It gives some great drills and exercises to improve your technique. The only downfall is that the book is fairly short and vage at certian points. None the less it is still something worth the expience. This book was what I needed to help me become a more competitive and healthy player.

4 out of 5 stars Good for coaches & players   May 4, 2000

An extremely useful book on a hard to find topic. Based on the English National men's side, focuses on a year long training plan. Also includes chapters on specific drills and weight exercises by player position, how to improve speed, etc. Slightly unrealistic chapter on eating habits for rugby players--veggie pizza & salad? Good for coaches and for individuals wanting to beef up their own regime.
