Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Excellent summary   September 8, 1999

In his book, Donald Sommerville, gives a well-informed, well-researched and interesting synopsis of rugby in general. This book includes very interesting features on several "major", as well as, "minor" rugby playing nations. The book also shows excellent photographs of great rugby moments, personalities, stadiums and describes in broad terms the development of the game over the years. I have found this book very interesting reading but would have preferred the book, being an Encyclopedia, to be somewhat more detailed. In short, I have found this an excellent buy.
