Editorial Reviews:

Book Description
The second book in the cruising of Seraffyn series begins when the Pardeys slew a personal dragon - the Atlantic - and arrived on the southwest coast of England, where they coasted eastward, stopping where fancy held them, where good friends were made, to winter at Poole, and work to pay for the next leg of the voyage - the Baltic in the spring. They visited Denmark, Sweden, Finland, dealt with armed guards on the Polish waterfront who watched while the people greeted them with flowers, fruits, and sweets. They weathered a fierce mast-under broach in a Baltic gale on their way to Cuxhaven, Germany, and back for another winter in England. From there they set out for the Mediterranean, where the story ends - to be continued in their next book. Here is a feast for the fantasies of stay-at-homes, and a warm account of two people who have lived in a wide adventurous world for eight years aboard a 24-foot boat. It is also a vastly entertaining instruction on how to live a rich life on very little money.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars An enjoyable, quick, read   October 19, 1999
5 out of 5 found this review helpful

This is the second of 4 books in the Pardey's Serrafyn series which describes their many year wanderings around the world on their small wooden sailboat. Both my wife and I read the first ("Cruising with Seraffyn") and had to pick up this next volume. The Pardeys have a very easy and relaxed writing style. Reading these books makes you feel like you are friends with them and enjoying the ride vicariously. They are enjoyable for the both the real and armchair sailor alike.
