The entire book can be read within a day. I recommend this book to learn the basics of canoeing. Beginner canoeist June 19, 2000 3 out of 9 found this review helpful I think that this book covered a lot of the material needed for canoeing and is a good guide for teaching younger kids before going on a canoe trip. That is the reason that I looked at this book because I am an environmental educator and was planning a canoe trip. It is a good source.
