Product Description A thoughtful, multigenerational tale of Sunday fishing trips with Dad, as seen through the eyes of the author as a young boy.
This lyrical story recaptures all the Sundays Michael J. Rosen spent fishing with his father at their favorite holes. He listens to his father’s advice on how to bait, cast, and be patient. Years down the road Rosen watches his father pass on the same lessons to his grandson.
A story of wonder and discovery for young anglers, a gift of nostalgia and love for grown-up experts, Fishing with Dad is a story for everyone whose memories include unhurried time at the water’s edge, tossing a hook and a bit of hope into the current.

Father's Day for Mothers, Grandfathers, All Anglers May 23, 2005 This tale of fishing together is universal. It's about time at the water's edge. It's about passing time, and passing along knowledge. It's about that bond that something simple and mysterious and giddy as catching a fish can provide. By no means a kid's book, although children would certainly enjoy it. The photographs look more like watercolors, and the images are as much of my family as they are of the author's. A lasting celebration of that childhood fishing trip. For father's day, sure. And for any other person and any other day. PLUS a very cool fishing secret to pass along to your own small child.

This book creates a magical world of turtles, crawdads, snails, bats and mallards. The illustrations are mesmerizing. I believe that this is a great books for kids because it makes them consider the environment around them, it teaches a respect that many kids might not consider otherwise. This book goes far beyond fishing.
