Editorial Reviews:

Book Description
Motocross--which involves competitors navigating their exotic motorcycles over tortuous terrain, including double- and triple-jumps, whoops, tabletops, hills, rocks, mud, dust, and anything else that Mother Nature can throw at them--is massively popular. In the United States alone, more than 1.2 million fans attended the AMA Supercross and National Motocross Championship Series in 2002. The sport has also generated an IMAX film, best-selling video games, and regular programming on ABC and ESPN.

MX: The Way of the Motocrosser is a photo-driven essay that documents this explosive sport, its major personalities--including Jeremy "Showtime" McGrath, X Games champion Travis Pastrana, and record-shattering champion Ricky Carmichael--and the subculture that surrounds the pro circuit. This extreme trek through the world of motocross will be sought after by every follower of the sport and offers a great introduction to this rapidly growing phenomenon for new fans.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars great book.... well done by the staff of Racer X   October 20, 2004

I am a motocross junky. This book is well done. The writers from Racer X have given our sport a face and pictures to go with it. If you like bikes and todays top riders, you'll enjoy this book. Also see the American Motocross books.

5 out of 5 stars MX - Getting better with age   May 4, 2003

If you liked "American Motocross Illustrated" then you've got to have this book. The explosive growth of MX/SX/AX and Freestyle over the past ten+ years have provided Davey Coombs with the perfect platform to launch a book like this. As Racer X grows and matures with the sport, hopefully there will be a racing annual for MX like there is for NASCAR, F!, ETC.
