This DVD-and-book set honors the fabled Gibson electric guitar. In the DVD, renowned player Carl Verheyen and guitar historian Dave Hunter delve into the ax's rich history while demonstrating examples of well-known models using period amps and modern high-end boutique combos. They trade licks on a number of Gibson’s definitive Les Paul models, explore the semi-acoustic range (including the 335), and showcase more exotic examples from Firebirds to Flying Vs. The reference book is packed with information and pictures covering the complete Gibson range.
Customer Reviews:
Absolutely marvelous for a tech buff like me!August 27, 2008 This is the best Interactive Bible to be printed yet. There are absolutely no pictures of any guitar in the book-part of the book, so to say. I may be slightly mad but I like that there are 108 pages of pure facts about any Gibson ever being built. You will learn what a Gibson guitar looks like and what it sounds like on the DVD-part. What makes this book better than the Fender Interactive is that between 1937-41 and 1948-79 you will get production totals of each model being built. And that Dave Hunter and Carl Verheyen is on another level when they play.
