| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Rescuing people from an aquatic environment is one of the more challenging and personally dangerous efforts professionals can undertake. Providing effective care for a victim of a submersion incident is also challenging and requires specialized knowledge. Aquatic Rescue Professional, Second Edition, clearly and effectively presents the techniques rescue professionals will need to know when responding to an aquatic emergency. The skills covered include those involving the rescue of conscious and unconscious victims found on the surface or submerged, as well as the use of personal watercraft in rescues. This program helps to develop rescue professionals who have the ability to protect themselves and others in aquatic incidents that may involve other types of hazards such as inclement weather and low visibility, harmful debris in the water, and strong currents.

Too little, too late. December 19, 2003 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
Although this book portends to be a tome of great importance to the profession of lifesaving, it actually contains little substantial information, and few skills of vital importance to the surf lifesaver.
If you really wish to educate yourself on matters of ocean rescue, you would do well to get the USLA manual rather than this text.
