Buy a different dictionary! September 23, 2008 I have the 1989 printing of this dictionary. Every time I open it, it drives me crazy. The number of entries is limited, and the entries themselves aren't helpful: it is impossible for a student of Spanish to figure out which of the words given is appropriate (my French and German Cassell's dictionaries have the same problem). Even the most basic help is missing; for example, in the English-Spanish side of the dictionary the gender of Spanish nouns is not provided. You are therefore forced to look the word up again in the Spanish side to learn the gender of a noun. After years of putting up with this book I've ordered the Oxford dictionary, which I expect to be a huge improvement!

A great dictionary that's been revised and updated. I learned Spanish many years ago in High School; and want to update my knowledge. This book helps very much in my review of the language. Highly recommended!
