4 out of 5 stars Abridged   August 31, 2005
The series was excellent. I can only hope to have the faith of the characters in this book. I read them on my wife's behalf, and enjoyed them.

I got the audio version of this series. Although the point gets across I think the abridged version shorts you many details that are important to the character building.

5 out of 5 stars My Absolute Favorite   March 3, 2005

This trilogy is my absolute favorite set of books. I would recommend this book to everyone. Ms. Rivers makes the characters and the setting come alive!

The books are set in Ephasus and Rome in the early days of the Christian church. The time period comes alive. I gained a new appreciation for the people living in those time and the culture they existed in.

These books were also convicting to me by helping me examine how I am living out my Christian life.

5 out of 5 stars An historical journey through the eyes of early Christians   July 31, 2001

I have seldom read a series of books that kept me as captivated as 'The Mark of the Lion' trilogy! I read all three books in one week and could not wait to loan them to my friends. The characters became so real to the reader that you found yourself worrying about their fates and rejoicing in their triumphs! It made me stop to think that surely the Lord does want all men to be set free in the salvation he provided for us. I encourage anyone who is feeling that they are not special or deserving of God's love to read these books- the experience will make you feel wonderful.

This is the best book ever written! I also reccomend you to read the two following books, they are just as good!
