Product Description The first-ever book from popular and respected Good Morning America co-anchor Robin Roberts, filled with her own hard-won insights into what makes successWhile most people will say that the key to success is a willingness to break the rules, to think outside the box, to ignore boundaries, Robin Roberts -- whose own spectacular success as a college basketball star, ESPN commentator, and co-anchor on Good Morning America is undisputed -- is here to tell readers differently. In her considerable experience, there are seven rules whose importance cannot be ignored, and which must never be broken if true, meaningful success is the goal. In the tradition of bestsellers like Maria Shriver's And One More Thing Before You Go, Anna Quindlen's A Short Guide to a Happy Life, and Marlo Thomas' The Right Words at the Right Time, From the Heart is the perfect gift for new grads, and an inspiring read for anyone searching for the path to success.

This book is a spark of love and compassion wrapped up in a smile that has won America's heart! Robin wrote this book prior to learning of her breast cancer. It is an awesome book and super easy to read. Hope she writes another about her latest chapter of life!
Getting to Know Robin Roberts March 27, 2008 I bought this book hoping to get some insight into Robin Roberts' life in broadcasting. This book touches on that subject but doesn't go into the depth I was expecting. What it does do is provide inspiration to all young girls who are trying to find their way in this world, and to those women (and men) that are thinking of changing careers. It sets a good example of how hard work, perserverance and faith in yourself and your abilities can open doors to a bright future and explains the importance that a mentor provides in helping open those doors.
Straightforward career advice January 22, 2008 Good Morning America co-host Robin Roberts presents her life story as a sort of Pilgrim's Progress, as she learns important lessons in each stage that prepare her for her next advance. She discusses her upbringing as a member of a tightly knit African-American family in Mississippi of the 1960s, and how her athletic talent, brains and common sense helped her transcend the racism of her small community. She frankly reveals her enormous drive to make a name for herself in national sports broadcasting. Roberts' advice is straightforward and grounded in experience, if a tad cliched. getAbstract recommends this short book to people who want to rise in their professions for the glimpse it provides into the life of this sincere and charming journalist.

"From the Heart" is a heart warming read that everyone will appreciate. It becomes all the more inspiring given her bout with cancer and how well she has handled it. She inspires all of us to "keep on keeping on."
