Amazon.com Review
If you thought The Silence of the Lambs was the last word on how the FBI tracks serial killers, think again. Grippando -- the Miami lawyer who scored with The Pardon -- manages to reveal even more inside information as agent Victoria Santos goes after a particularly nasty murderer/mutilator. Helping in the chase is reporter Mike Posten, getting repeated tips from somebody who reveals the kind of details only the actual killer could know. There's also an exciting, ultra-violent conclusion on a cruise ship just begging for Bruce Willis and Demi Moore.

Product Description
By the author of the bestselling The Pardon, this fast-paced novel teams a resourceful FBI agent and an embattled journalist in a hunt for two men -- a serial killer and his elusive informant.

When an informer chooses Miami Tribune crime reporter Michael Posten as his conduit, giving him information about murders that haven't yet taken place, investigators speculate on whether the killer and informer are the same person. As the newspaper continues to deposit larger sums into the killer's account, FBI agent Victoria Santos and the reluctant journalist join forces to prevent the next gruesome murder. But then dues stop and the murders continue... until a psychopath makes one mistake too many. This gripping, unpredictable story of revenge will not be soon forgotten.

"James Grippando writes with the authenticity of an insider....The Informant is a thoroughly convincing, edge-of-your seat thriller, clearly on a par with The Silence of the Lambs."

-- John Douglas, former chief of the FBI's Investigative Support Unit

5 out of 5 stars GREAT Book - Loved It!!   February 5, 2008
Your attention is grabbed at the very beginning of the story and keeps up the pace until the conclusion. I couldn't read it fast enough. I have read all of Grippando's books including the Jack Swyteck's series and they are all excellent. Full of suspense, mystery and intrigue - Just the way I like them. Definitely 5 Stars!

5 out of 5 stars Par Excellence   August 23, 2007
i am a huge fan of Mr. Grippando and have yet to be disappointted. I read al ot of books of this genre and he stand out head and shoulders above the rest. I enjoy his work because so far I have only guesed the protaganists once and it was still a great story. I read them as fast as he prints them. The only problemis I stay up way too late and finish them way too quickly !!.

5 out of 5 stars THE INFORMANT   May 30, 2007
THIS WAS MY FIRST READ OF JAMES GRIPPANDO. I REALLY ENJOYED THIS BOOK, LOOK FORWARD TO OTHERS HE HAS WRITTEN. IT IS NOT FOR THE FAINTHEARTED! IT IS VERY EXPLICIT AND DETAILED.

5 out of 5 stars One of the Best   November 8, 2006
This is the first book that I have read by this author and I found it to be a roller coaster of a ride. The sory is complex and the writer demonstates an uncanny ability to move the major plots along as well as the numerous subplots that are present in this page turner of a novel. The characters are in depth with real substance existing and the story moves along rapidly in a most satisfying read. Even when some predictability is present as to the ongoing story, the writer demonstates fluidity in his ability to tell the story and one feels the need to follow through and enjoy the ride.
