5 out of 5 stars An Awesome Book!   September 16, 2008
This was a wonderful book, chock full of expert knowledge and helpful strategies for life! So many things in here have really hit home for me, and I'm reading it again with a study group, it just gets better and better. Sean Covey is an amazing author and I heartily recommend this book.

5 out of 5 stars 6 Decisions... great conversation starter with your teen!   August 8, 2008
I purchased this initially as a read aloud with my teens, but my 12 year old wanted to read it on her own... she has enjoyed reading it then asking me some questions concerning the issues in the book. The six topics address issues: school, friends, parents, dating and sex, addictions,self-worth, all issues that helped start some great conversations with my child.
*****!!!!

5 out of 5 stars Great bonding opportunity   July 17, 2008
I read this book to my 10-year-old, and it helped me broach topics that I probably would have had a difficult time talking about and created opportunities for the two of us to bond that would have never happened otherwise. The book may broach topics that are too mature for some 10-year-olds (e.g., pornography, drugs, etc.), but I feel fortunate to have been the first to introduce these topics to my son. As we read the book, he sought me, asking specifically for me to read more of the book to him. It was clear that he was not only interested in the book, but he enjoyed the experience of us sharing the information. As a result, we were now able to talk about drugs, alcohol, sex, school, and numerous other topics because those topics are introduced in the book. One of the things that I appreciate most about the book is the fact that it not only provides recommendations about six important decisions that all teens will face, but it also provides numerous anecdotes and statistics in support of those recommendations.

5 out of 5 stars AMAZING BOOK!!!   July 12, 2008
This is my 14 yr old daughters favorite book. After starting the book and reading for 45 minutes, she looks up and says, "Mom, I'm Not Losing My Mind!" This book lets every kid know they are not alone in their feelings and fears. My 11 year old can't wait to read it. She has skimmed chapters and knows it will help her with her questions and insecurities.

4 out of 5 stars BOUGHT ONE FOR EACH OF MY TEENS   June 9, 2008
|I checked this book out of the library and was so impressed I bought one for my 14 year old daughter and 16 year old son. I wrote on the inside covers and laid the books on their beds, I have seen them both with their books and pages folded down. It really has some good advice on conducting yourself in a way that will pave a way for a better future and gain trust and respect from adults.
