Product Description The Upper East Side metrosexual may be good at cocktail chat, but a real man knows how to fight off alligators, create a tourniquet out of a t-shirt, and rescue a drowning person. Frank Miniter's The Ultimate Man's Survival Guide shows men how to do all of these and more, including:* how to fight off a bear * how to set a dislocated joint * how to pick the perfect cigar and bottle of wine Presented in seven sections--survivor, provider, athlete, hero, romantic, cultured man, and philosopher--Miniter teaches guys the skills, attitudes, and philosophies they need to be the ultimate man. Clearly written and packed with real-life anecdotes, as well as line-drawings and how-to illustrations, The Ultimate Man's Survival Guide teaches men that any guy can be the ultimate man whether he is rescuing a lost hiker, plucking a child from a swift stream, or standing up against injustice.

Manhood 101 June 26, 2010 Marceau O'Neill Mr. Miniter's "The Ultimate Man's Survival Guide" was a refreshing read. The subject of reviving an interest in and re-educating our boys and young men in masculine basics cannot be stressed enough. Whether the art of self-reliance in the wilderness, or exercising a strong cultural embodiment of a laudable "manly" stature, every young man must be subjected to and have this teaching incorporated into his formative training. If not, we, as a society, are doomed to the on-going feminization and infantalization of our males.
Bravo, Mr. Miniter! I look forward to more of your work on this long-overdue discussion.

Author of "I Know You Know I'm Out Here!"
Man's Survival May 27, 2010 Tradtoolmaker (Georgia) If you purchase this book, you will be so glad that you did. It covers more than survival. A must read for all men. Great book.
Much Needed May 4, 2010 Bernard Chapin (CHICAGO! USA) This is a very handy and interesting book. It explains wide-ranging things such as how to ford a stream and Buddhism's Eight Precepts. Despite being 40, there's a lot here that I didn't know and I imagine it would prove quite enlightening for younger males. It was published by Regnery but there are no politics here. Miniter treats his subjects dispassionately and his main goal is to educate...which he succeeds in doing admirably.
Great Book! February 24, 2010 Trish A. Kelley The books came right on time and in perfect condition - just like it was listed.
essential read for a young man in this age February 8, 2010 Robert W. Sprague (Ca USA) Lots of things in here our dads took for granted that need to be spelled out to young men in this day of the metrosexual, overdressed, sissified male.
