Book Description The definitive work on the multiple 4-3 / numbers defense. Former Athletic Director and Coach Dennis Harris puts his 39 years of coaching experience into this extremely detailed and thorough yet easy-to-understand and implement reference on the multiple 4-3. This beefy 300+ page manual provides detailed defensive philosophy (including defensive front seven, huddle, signal system, combinations, the coach's responsibility, and more), and offers concise individual player techniques for defensive tackles, defensive ends, inside linebackers, outside linebackers, and defensive backs. Also covers stunts, special defenses, defensive implementation and drills (including junior high and Freshmen teaching progressions). Special appendices on installing defenses, the making of a championship secondary, sample Spring defense implementation goals, sample defensive practice cards, preseason game-plan forms, and much, much more. Nearly 400 diagrams and illustrations!

second best book February 26, 2006 0 out of 5 found this review helpful
This is the second best book i have found on coaching the 4-3. It would have been better if they would have given a brief description of each term in the glossarys preceding each chapter. This would let you translat your own terminolgy to the book.
