Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Now established as one of the leading introductory texts for students studying these subjects, this new edition combines a non-rigorous approach to the subject with applications in economics and business. Fundamental mathematical concepts are explained as simply and briefly as possible, using a wide selection of worked examples, graphs and real-world applications.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Good book for Professors and Students   January 4, 2007
1 out of 1 found this review helpful

I am a teacher of Introductory Mathematics for Economics. Traditionally, it is not very easy to find good introductory books of Mathematical Economics.

I consider this book to be one of the best. It covers the most important mathematical concepts and techniques such as functions, differentiation, partial differentiation, integration, differential equations, financial mathematics. In all the chapters the reader will find several progress exercises adequate to an introductory level.

The authors clearly show a great deal of concern with the economic applications. This is one of the best aspects of this book: for every mathematical technique explained, the authors present several economic applications.

If you are an undergraduate student of Economics or Business you will find this book extremely useful. If you are a Professor you will discover several interesting examples of mathematical applications to Economic analysis.
