Great for kids - not so great for mom April 15, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Seriously, I really do not like this book. There's nothing actually wrong with it, it's just so annoying. You have to say "boogie, woogie, woogie, oogie" - or something like that a thousand times. The pictures are nice and bright (and inclusive), but the repetitive text is almost more than I can stand. And unfortunately for me, both my boys have loved this one. I'm giving it a three simply to split the difference.
This Is A Book Every Young Child Will Love January 18, 2008 As a music teacher I have used this book for years. Children as young as 1 1/2 up to 7 have always loved it. I recently purchased it for a friend's one year old daughter thinking she will grow into it. But that was not the case. She immediately loved it! She is always turning on the CD and asking for the story every night before bed. The repetition, anticipation and tune always seem to captivate children. Then of course there are motions that most children will immediately pick up. If you like to have fun, smile, shake and dance this is a wonderful book.
Great sing along book September 10, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My students love this book! It has a very catchy tune and they love doing the motions for each animal. They beg me to do it!!
Barefoot Books are the best! May 4, 2007 Whenever my sister asks for recommendations for my three-year old's birthday, Christmas, etc. gifts, I give the same answer: ANYTHING from Barefoot Books! The day after receiving Walking Through the Jungle (Sing Along With Fred Penner) for her latest birthday I rushed to the computer and Amazon to order all of Barefoot's CD+books. They are all fantastic - my daughter listens to each of them at least twice a day. She took them to her daycare, as well, and her teacher promptly ordered all of them!
The Animal Boogie January 26, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
What an awesome book! Having read it once, I had to own it. The children in my early childhood classroom adored the rhythm of the text and joyously participated in the book when the CD was played. They couldn't help but move!
