Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Popular motojournalist Clement Salvadori has been sharing his stories from the road with the readers of Rider magazine since 1988. Now, 101 of those engaging Road Tales have been brought together in one book, cleverly illustrated by his long-time friend Gary Brown. Salvadori loves to travel by motorcycle and loves to write. His combining the two has given him a thoroughly satisfactory life, and his contentment and joy of living shine through this collection of columns from the past two decades. Though he does admit to being destination-oriented at times, many of his columns focus on the little things that make the journey itself the most memorable -- the rhythm of the road, the music of the bike, the beauty of the ride, and the exhilaration of being at one with the bike and the road. Meet some of the characters he has encountered, laugh with him at some of his blunders, and join him for bread, cheese, wine, and a stupendous vista somewhere away from the hustle and bustle of humanity.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars unique style   September 21, 2008
If you like useful information and interesting historical facts about motorcycles, you will love this book; I have met Salvadori at several rallys and his written style is as interesting as his conversational talents; it is like having a beer in your den with a great friend who loves bikes as much as you do. In sum, he has a rare talent for wraping valuable information in a laid back, comfortable style; highly recommended...wj

5 out of 5 stars Great "tales"   August 1, 2008
Great motorcycle tour articles. Nothing technical, just good writing of adventures the author has taken on a motorcycle. If only I could write as well. Recommended for touring motorcycle people. Crotch-rocket riders will not understand the concept.

5 out of 5 stars A Glass of Wine for the Man With the Beret   July 25, 2008
In the mid-1990s at a motorcycle show in Kalispell, Montana, I had a chance to visit for several minutes with Clement Salvadori and have been a fan ever since.
This collection of his monthly columns in Rider Magazine is so much fun - not meant to be read straight through, but pick and choose ... and savor! His stories are not unlike many that riders would have of their own, but no doubt told in a better way.
This book joins my collection of books to read bits and pieces of when winter keeps me from riding here in the middle of the country.

I've been reading Clements articles in Rider magazine for years. With this book I don't have to wait for the next issue! Great stories for the motorcycle rider.
