2 out of 5 stars Poor Quality Copies   October 19, 2007

I purchased this thinking it would be similar to the "Memories of a Lifetime" series. I was very disappointed. If you plan to use the CD for copies, do not bother with this book. The copies are terrible. They are faded and lack color. Purchase one of the "Memories of a Lifetime" series instead. I initially thought that I had received a flawed CD. I contacted the company and they sent me another. Same poor quality. I tried a total of three separate CDs. I even contacted the people involved to let them know how bad the quality of the copies were, thinking, naively, that someone might actually care or be able to do something about it. It seems that the company producing the CDs changed between the "Memories of a Lifetime" series (produced by Sterling) and the "Instant Memories"series (produced by Lark). Sterling's quality control was high and Lark's is low. I will not purchase any of the "Instant Memories" books because of this. If you just want to tear out the pictures, "French Pages" is a lovely book. Otherwise, save your money.

2 out of 5 stars Pretty disappointed.   August 7, 2007

If you're planning on tearing out the existing pages - I think that'd be about the best bet. The quality of the pictures on the cd was dismal. If you're familiar with tweaking your own images , they're what you could expect if you amped the contrast WAY up - bright whites and yellows. Since I buy these things with every intention of using the cd , and using the book to find the image I want - I'm not happy.

5 out of 5 stars Love, Love, LOVE This Book!!!   May 11, 2007

As with all of the Instant Memories series, you not only get the beautiful layouts on high-quality printed pages perforated for easy use, but you also receive a CD-ROM with all of the pages and seperate elements presented as either 72 dpi or 220 dpi. If you like to create on the computer as well as tactile elements, you will LOVE these books.

My favorite ones are the Anna Corba editions because they are beautiful on their own, but would work with additional elements you add. Anna Corba's quiet, elegant style continues to inspire me. As I said before, you can use each piece individually with the CD, or even cutting it out of the layout. So, even if you don't completely love the page layouts, you will not be wasting your money.

Lovely pictures. I hope to find uses for them. Still not sure how to utilize the pages in practical gifting or scrapbooking because of the size of the pages and the collage, snippet, back side of postcard quality to some of the pages. Lovely ambience, but I wouldn't buy again.

My niece picked this out for her scrapbook project she had to do in her French class. We loved it. The pics are great! They're so beautiful that you hate to cover them at all. We were very happy with this scrapbook and you will be too!
