A refreshing outlook on scrapbooking July 23, 2008 I have just started this wonderful hobby of scrapbooking, and this book has opened my eyes to all the possibilities out there. The typical things that one would think to scrap (weddings, birthdays, holidays and so forth) can limit our options. This book shows how real life is made up of everyday moments more than yearly events, and encourages you to record them: how your children are growing, things people say, things that you like (and dislike!), quirks and habits that you have... The artwork is wonderful. I've gotten a lot of ideas from Nic's layouts. I absolutely recommend this book if you need a boost of inspiration, if you've ran out of ideas, or just if you (like me) love to flip through books and delight your eyes with beautiful layouts.
Wonderfully inspirational! July 6, 2008 I own many scrapbooking-related books and this is one of my very favorites. Nic's quirky sense of humor and unique scrapbooking style drew me in, but more important still is the message that she's sending - don't let everyday life pass by undocumented. Personally, I think that will tell future generations much more about me and the times that I lived in then just documenting holidays and vacations every could. I highly recommend this book!
That's Life May 30, 2008 This book is a good read. Nic Howard writes as if you are sitting and having a great talk with a good friend.
The ideas are good, but nothing exciting and original. There's nothing like the Queen of scrapbooking your everyday life, Ali Edwards, so anyone else seems to pale a bit.
Inspirational April 28, 2008 I love this book and I love Nic's style. I've gotten some great ideas and some wonderful inspiration from the pages. I can't wait to start integrating some of what's on these pages to my own scrapbooking ideas. So glad I made the purchase.
A little distracted April 10, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great find. I must say that if you enjoy scrapping and a have a love for circles in your layouts, then this would be awesome to add to your collection. I did notice that a lot of the layouts were of the same people. This really shouldn't matter, but I found it to be a little distracting from the whole purpose of the book. I did find new techniques to add to my list to try. You wouldn't be wasting your money if you bought this book.
