Product Description
Containing the full Arabic text of the Qur'an, an accompanying English translation, and extensive commentary, this is a compilation of the Muslim faith's Final Revelation from God to mankind through the last Prophet Muhammad, Peace be upon Him. The Qur'an has a wealth of information--both worldly wisdom and intellectual concepts--providing a code of life for humankind generally and Muslims in particular. Indeed, the Qur'an's miracle lies in its ability to offer something to non-believers and everything to believers. This elegantly-packaged edition includes a ribbon marker and is fully indexed.

One of the Foremost English Translations September 17, 2008 The translation by Abdulla Yusuf Ali is printed by several publishers. A much better printing is by Amana Publications ISBN 1590080254 (hardcover)entitled "The Meaning of the Holy Qur'an" with a soft cover and pocket edition also available. It contains the same translation and notes but has been updated more recently than the Tahrike version. The Amana edition is printed with the pages turning left to right, as an English reader is used to, rather than right to left as in the Tahrike publisher version. Also, the print is much easier to read, it is printed on acid free paper and leather(ette) bound. Overall the Amana edition is much finer for virtually the same price.
The best and unadulterated version of Abdullah Yusuf Ali Work September 5, 2008 This is the best available and minimally adulterated version of Abdullah Yusuf Ali's work in the market. As far as I can check from the 3rd edition published in 1938 (I have one copy), only one phrase is missing in the commentary of Chapter 33 verse 59 in note 3764 where the following phrase is missed out "The times were those of insecurity (See next verse No. 60)". I have purchased 5 other versions of Abdullah Yusuf Ali's work by 5 other publishers previously and all have many changes in the translation and commentary, all made in the name of modernization and revision. But unfortunately these changes are in such key topics e.g. women dress code and usury that do not do justice with the open mindedness of the Quranic Arabic text. This is pure dishonesty with the work of this great scholar who has translated Arabic Quran into English keeping the universal nature of message in mind regarding people of different nations, cultures and faiths. Fortunately This Quranic translation and commentary is free of such adulterations and I congratulate the company for keeping the originally of the work. The above mentioned omission has been reported to the company.
Great Copy and Translation August 23, 2008 I searched for weeks to find a comprehensive translation of the Qur'an for my own personal analytical study of religion (I'm an atheist) and I'm extremely happy with this one. It is the Qur'an, translated fully, with extensive commentary on differences of context and translation at the bottom of the pages where relevent.
I've seen some other reviews about the paper quality and while I cannot speak for those people, I would like to note that the paper in my copy is akin to the thin style of paper used in leatherbound/hardcover Bibles. It doesn't appear to be a product flaw at all, just what you usually see in holy books.
A must buy for all May 17, 2008 Sallam to All, This product is the best Quran I have ever bought, It is not just the Quran with commentarie, its has so much more than that. The Desighn of the book is beatuful, the picture on amazon does not do it justcie, the desighn on the inside is beatiful as well. The commentary is not hard to read at all and they are really informing on the text and when you read just one page you leave with a whole new found knowldge which you can use to tell your family and freinds about the info. The pages have famous poems that relate to the Quran, and there are alot of refrences which makes it even more exciting to read. The outside of the book is very style, and it gives the customore pride to be holding it. The only fault it, if you accdently scrimple a page the mark of you doing it wont leave, but other then that its the best Quran to buy Bfoali
Qur'an Review April 6, 2008 Good size print, lots of in-depth commentary. Nicely put together, and the parallel Arabic script is a plus. Just what I wanted.
