5 out of 5 stars Best Ever on Sport Supplements   July 29, 2008

Could not put this book down once I started reading it. Talk about a most comprehensive book on sport supplements, this book is the best ever. It certainly satisfied my curiosity about the many misconceptions in the supplement industry. Many of the research publications are too technical for the average reader but this book is an easy read and will clarify any question one has about the incredible amount of supplements available in this indusry. I consider the recommendations made about selecting certain companies and their products is a highlight of the book. This is a 5-star book that is certainly underpriced.

1 out of 5 stars Nothing new   November 13, 2007

This book contains very basic information and doesn't review any products. It talked in generalities and the majority of products that are mentioned are iSatori, which is affiliated with the author.

5 out of 5 stars Great Guide!   September 22, 2007
It has everything anyone needs to know about supplements. What works and what doesn't. Anyone that plays sports or lifts weights can greatly benefit from this book.

5 out of 5 stars Very Comprehensive and Useful   August 29, 2007

This book is one of the best, research based, and easy to read guides on sports supplements ever written. I have read several other books on this subject but this one puts it all together with user friendly "need to know" information. As an avid runner, I especially liked the useful sports programs in the back of the book. I also loved the information about choosing the right company to buy supplements from since there are so many guys out there making crazy claims and its hard to figure out who to trust. I think this book is essential to anyone involved in fitness or athletics.

5 out of 5 stars Extremely valuable to the avid athlete   August 28, 2007

This book contains extremely pertinent information on supplements that athletes commonly use. I am currently in the process of training for my next triathlon and have found a lot of information contained in this book extremely valuable. My workouts consist of swimming, cycling, running, and power lifting, and it has been very difficult to find the exact supplements needed to support this regimen. Adele and Jalali have taken very technical information and translated into easy to understand terms for people that don't have a biology/chemistry based educational background without compromising communicating the details of how the human body functions with respect to the given supplement.

I highly recommend this book to anyone seeking to use supplements to support their workout regimen. With a slough of information all over the internet, this book can be a single "go to" reference for someone looking for information without all getting caught up with all the misinformation online.
