Editorial Reviews:

Book Description
Fishing Lessons is a rich mix of anecdotes, observations, essays, short stories, one-liners, and personal revelations from Paul Quinnett's rich life and fishing journals. In his honest, straightforward style, the renowned psychologist/ fisherman rounds out the trilogy that began with Pavlov's Trout and Darwin's Bass, the first books ever written on the psychology of fishing. This time he tackles the philosophy of fishing-a philosophy of enjoying life. Over the course of its pages, Fishing Lessons provides satisfying essays that won't so much teach you about fishing as they will teach you about yourself-about marriage, parenting, friendship, following your heart, finding balance in life, laughing at yourself, and keeping a sense of humor.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Powerful truths and gentle humor about living life well.   November 10, 1998
5 out of 5 found this review helpful

Fishing Lessons collects a variety of insightful essays from a passionate fisherman and professional psychologist who is also a wonderful writer. His stories speak about what is important in life--taking risks and reaching for goals, cherishing family and friends, respecting yourself, surrounding yourself with people who's qualities you admire, and always, always, keeping your sense of humor. Though I can count my flyfishing days on my fingers, this colorful angler's words resonated with me. If your passion isn't fishing, but is hunting, or hiking, or even stamp collecting, Quinnett's stories will still inspire you and enrich you in surprising ways. This book will make my Christmas shopping easier, as I know several sportsmen that I can't wait to share it with.
