U2's first three albums--Boy, October, and War--receive star treatment with these re-mastered versions, just as their legendary The Joshua Tree record did last year. Every album includes a second disc of b-side remixes, live versions, and rare performances that die-hard fans of the Irish band will surely appreciate. Album Description
This limited edition collectible U2 Deluxe Edition boxset is handsomely constructed in a sturdy hardbound shell, measuring 5 3/4" (width) x 2 3/4" (spine width) x 5 7/16" (tall) and comes with the newly remastered and expanded 2 CD deluxe editions of the bands first three albums BOY, OCTOBER and WAR, plus room for a fourth (not included). Re-mastered from the original audio tapes, each deluxe includes a disc of b-sides, live tracks and rarities, and the packaging on all three titles has been restored and expanded, with new liner notes for each record, previously unseen photos and full lyrics. This set also comes with a limited edition, exclusive 18'x24' full color replica poster from the bands beginnings, recreated just for this boxset.

Beautiful set! Worth every penny. August 28, 2008

I was a little worried after reading a couple minor complaints about the packaging, but now that I've received the item I'm quite pleased. The box set packaging is amazing! Based on another review, I thought the slip cases were just flimsy cardboard, but they're thick and heavy like hardcover book covers. The cover contains a small hardcover book with the discs placed nicely inside. Actually, my biggest worry was that the CD's would be hard to take out of the cardboard insert, but they're perfectly fitted (at least in my set).
I won't comment on the sound quality, because others have already mentioned the excellent remastering. I highly recommend this set for any fan of U2's earlier material. I will say, though, I feel sorry for people who stick to buying MP3's only. Not only do they miss out on great sound (maybe their ears can't tell the difference anyway) but they're also missing out on this wonderful set.

Let me tell you that if you are a new U2 fan You must get this collection. The reason is that it is included one of the best records of the band and it is October. I do not understand why they did not perform more songs from this excellent record. But let me tell you that the B side records capture the personallity of the band and the great moment that they were trough.
 Shoddy Workmanship On the Box Itself! August 27, 2008

First, I'm a huge U2 fan and have no problems at all with the actual contents of the box. My problem is at with how poorly the actual box and its contents were assembled. The glue is clearly coming off on the bindings and at places the edges don't meet, exposing cardboard underneath. The empty CD space was filled with a bonus poster which is nice but did not sufficiently support any weight on the box itself, so the box caves in a bit (or at least mine did in shipping). Again, love the contents only wish they had paid more attention to the details that make this a "Deluxe Edition". In hindsight I would have just bought the discs separately.

Has anyone else gotten an incorrectly packaged version? I have 2 copies of the October album and no bonus-cd for that album!?
Nice repackaging/remastering August 25, 2008
Well, as a U2 Superfan, I had very high expectations of this release and what can I say, expectations were met. Nice box set with all the extras one would desire. B-sides/remixes/remastering is nice/great booklets/sturdy case/etc. Get this one before they are all gone.
