Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Sword in Two Hands is a full-color modern training guide based on the 14th & 15th century Italian swordmaster, Fiore dei Liberi. In the sumptuous volume, Brian R. Price, Principale and co-founder of the Schola Saint George, presents a detailed curriculem designed to guide novice and intermediate combatants through the efficient and powerful swordsmanship based on Fiore's three surviving books. Translations of the Fior di Battaglia are included for the sections covered alongside transcriptions of the original text and neverbefore seen color images from the Getty edition of the Fior. Hundreds of full-color photographs accompany Mr. Price's interpretation of Fiore's work in what is sure to become a classic of the field. This book is a perfect guide for anyone interested in one of Europe's pinnacle systems of swordsmanship.

3 out of 5 stars The Ancient and Noble Art of Editing   January 26, 2008
9 out of 11 found this review helpful

The quality of the editing is horrid. There are numerous spelling errors, repeated lines, and several places where entire words seem to have been dropped.

There are two pages near the end which are double printed, slightly out of phase, making it very hard to read. Nearly every book I have from Chivalry Bookshelf has had physical flaws [folded pages, torn pages, the plastic coating on the cover creased or peeling off]. The problems with these books may stem from a small publisher trying to save money. Most have been printed in India, the current book in Hong Kong.

The color pictures are clear. The text is generally readable. The author seems to write in a clear manner. Without the errors I would have been much happier with this book.

Does the author do a good job at interpreting and teaching the original source material? Unfortunately, I do not know. I hope someone with more knowledge will answer that question.
