This book is a gem! April 18, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The original and colorful designs in Applique at Play renewed my interest in quilting. I'd gotten away from it in favor of all the trendy new hobbies you watch on the crafting shows. Now I'm back working on a quilt for a baby shower. What mother wouldn't love a keepsake quilt for her child that was lovingly made by a friend? The contemporary designs in this book fit the lifestyle of today's energetic kids. You will love this book!

DeElda Wittmack's APPLIQUE AT PLAY; 19 SPORTS BLOCKS TO MIX AND MATCH is all about sports fans: make a quilt for all kinds of sports using the sports-themed block ideas here. Nineteen blocks in six quick projects lend to themes and playful mixing and are accompanied by ideas for putting the themes together, adding and subtracting designs, finishing projects, and varying ideas.
Not your grandmother's quilting book! January 21, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
DeElda Wittmack has brought new designs to quilting. This book has beautiful photos, lively colors, and great tips to help the machine quilter. The sports designs will make great quilts, pillows, and appliques for clothing or a baby quilt for a little guy. I plan on using the cute dog, cat, and star in non-sport themed creations. I love this book!
