Product Description
After one hundred years of relative obscurity, women's ice hockey finally debuted at the 1998 Winter Olympics. For the first time ever, millions of fans watched as talented female players skated in highly competitive games. The sport itself had at long last won world recognition. With over 100 great full-color action photos, this practical book demonstrates basic skating skills and hockey knowledge, equipment, power skating, shooting, passing and scoring, goaltending, playing without the puck, training and crosstraining, how to find or create a team, and how to locate women's hockey resources. The author lives in Brooklyn, NY. 96 pages (all in color), 8 x 10.

This book covers things that the others don't!! May 24, 2000 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
This book was extremely helpful to me. Not only does it cover the complicated stuff such as backwards crossovers but also the things no one else talks about. Things like getting up after you fall down! Another plus is the pictures. Everything from proper stopping techniques to the best way to put on all your gear step by step. This book is a must if you're thinking about playing ice hockey!
Now there's REALLY no excuse for women not to play hockey. December 3, 1999 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I've never seen hockey skills and strategy described as clearly as Aaron Foeste has in this book (without any oversimplifying or patronizing!). (Bruce Curtis' excellent photos don't hurt, either.) Skate, don't walk!
